AIESEC Bangalore are 100 per cent placed
Placements are round the corner and everyone’s burning the midnight lamp with aptitude books piled around or attending long hours of skill building sessions after college. And guess who’s not really nervous about this whole placement frenzy? Our AIESECers from Bangalore!
A recent study just showed that full members of AIESEC Bangalore in the recent past have been placed in increasing numbers every year. “Last year, in 2009, full members from AIESEC Bangalore got placed almost instantly during their college placements”, says Priyanka Jain, Vice President, Finance, of the organisation.
“This year too, all the full members of AIESEC Bangalore who finished with their respective terms here, are now successfully placed in prestigious companies with very good jobs” continues Jain.
Here is what the students have to say for themselves! “I always fared well academically but needed to build my soft skills and wanted a lot more exposure to work environments. I joined AIESEC Bangalore in 2008 and was a part of the corporate department that sold international corporate entrepreneurship projects to big companies from Bangalore. In 2009, I was a part of the recruitment team and recruited a batch of 52 AIESECers in March 2009 along with five of my team-mates. All these experiences made me more confident, smart and open-minded. Also, with the brilliant cultural atmosphere in AIESEC, I opened up to a lot more cultures and people. On the day of my recruitment last week, I was sure I was well backed with good academic preparation and confidence for the interviews. Six hours later into the placement hall, after successive technical rounds, interviews and group discussions, I was the first one from my college to get into CISCO”, says Akhil Khemani, student of PES School of Engineering.
Does AIESEC give you the skills to get into one of the world’s best Bschools? Krishna Nandakumar says, “I completed my graduation from Christ this year and was a part of AIESEC from Feb 2008 to Dec 2009. It was a wonderful platform to network with some of the smartest youth from town as well as discover my own potential. AIESEC gave me the perfect opportunity to conceive my own projects and execute them with a dedicated team. Some weeks back, I received a call from the University of Warrick granting me approval for my admission this fall.”
Not only this! The Global Entrepreneurs’ Program (GEP), that offers a huge variety of short-term international internships in the fields of social issues, welfare economics, entrepreneurial development, crosscultural exchange etc., has been the top choice of students going for international cultural exchange programs this year.
Says Manish Pareek, Founder, Wings Corporation, “I went for a GEP to Indonesia to work with start-up enterprises on their development by innovating their markets & products. Along with AIESEC Indonesia, our team of 11 people from 9 countries did a fabulous job over there. I gained a wonderful work experience in an international work environment, delivered a good project, impacted lives of people — some, if not many and finally had a lot of fun! Now in Bangalore, I started my own enterprise six months back, with just a graduation degree in hand and I don’t think I need to do an MBA!”
