International Seminar on Diasporic Canadian Punjabi Literature - Punjab University - Chandigarh

Punjabi University, World Punjabi Centre will organise an international seminar on `Diasporic Canadian Punjabi Literature: An Analytical Study' on September 23 at the Punjabi University Senate Hall.
The renowned Canadian scholar, critic, and editor of `Samvad' magazine, Sukhinder Singh will express his views on diasporic Canadian Punjabi literature. A book will also be released on this occasion.

World-renowned Pakistani writer, scholar and poetess Kishwar Naheed will explore various poles of Urdu poetry in Pakistan.

Dr Jaspal Singh, Vice Chancellor, Punjabi University, will be the chief guest while the seminar will be presided over by Saraswati award winner Dr Surjeet Patar.

Various renowned scholars like Dr Sutinder Singh Noor, Vice President of the Sahit Academy, New Delhi, Dr Jagbir Singh, Dr Tejwant Singh Maan, Dr Jaswinder Singh and Dr Ratan Singh Dhillon are also expected to participate in the international-level seminar. “All these scholars are cat alysts of change and new exper imentalists in literary, cul tural and social field,“ said Dr Deepak Manmohan Singh Director, World Punjabi Centre This will be an enriching seminar indeed, which will pro vide an opportunity to young writers to showcase their work through a tri-monthly maga zine, `Nange Haraf'.

`Vishav Bharti Prakashan Barnala' and `Arts Counci Ottawa (Canada)' ensured their co-operation to the seminar.
